Entrepreneurial Development
and Business Management (EDBM):
Entrepreneurs start with an idea
and try to build their businesses from there, often without the
benefit of even the most basic business development and/or
management skills. The objectives of the EDBM module are to provide
tools to support the entrepreneur as they develop their own business
acumen in areas such as market research, planning, accessing
capital, sourcing raw materials, quality control, and
decision-making, to name a few. Additionally, this course allows
participants to develop basic business management skills to better
budget, track income and expenditures and effectively manage the
financial side of the business.
Basic Business Management (BBM):
The BBM module is a stand-alone
curriculum based on the business management aspects of the EDBM
course. This module targets populations working in wage-based
employment, not those running their own businesses, and provides
basic tools for budgeting, tracking income and expenditures and
overall basic financial management, allowing for more effective
organization of personal or household finances.
Workforce Development and
Congenial Environment (WDCE):
Developed to assist target
populations with no or very little previous experience in the
formalized workplace, this module provides guidance and tools to
help participants in two different areas: Determining life goals
and creating a pathway to achieving those goals; Understanding the
norms of the workplace and the roles, responsibilities and benefits
therein. Activities begin with the formulation of a life aim and
carry through to appropriate behavior in the workplace and the
development of individual budgets and savings plans, providing
participants with an understanding of work and the employee/employer
relationship and the knowledge to manage their own expectations.
